I’ve been on this entrepreneurial journey for over two decades. But before I became the person who helps moms like you build businesses that work for your life, I started out just like you—navigating the ups and downs of balancing family, work, and the dream of something more.

1999: The Year It All Started

It’s funny when I think about where my journey started. Back in 1999, I wasn’t thinking about becoming a business expert or helping others find their path. I was just trying to figure it all out myself. I had big dreams but no real road map. I didn’t come from a family of entrepreneurs or have a mentor who could show me the ropes. But I had determination—and a belief that I could make something happen if I just kept pushing forward.

So, I took the leap. I started my first "real" side business whilst studying in university. It wasn’t glamorous, and it didn’t make me rich overnight. But what it did give me was something even more valuable—experience. I learned firsthand what it’s like to take risks, fail, get back up, and try again. Those early years taught me the importance of persistence, grit, and never giving up, even when things didn’t go according to plan.

The Reality of Juggling Business and Family

As life unfolded, I became a mom. And like so many of you, I found myself trying to balance being present for my kids while also growing my business. I’d love to tell you it was easy, but it wasn’t. There were days when I wondered if I could really do it—run a business and be a great mom at the same time. The pressure of trying to be “perfect” in both worlds felt overwhelming.

But here’s the truth: perfection is a myth. It’s not about doing it all flawlessly; it’s about figuring out what works best for

And that’s exactly what I did. I found ways to make my business work around my family, not the other way around. I learned to build systems, streamline processes, and use tools that gave me more time to focus on what mattered most—being there for my kids while still pursuing my passion.

A Different Path: From Nuclear Medicine to Entrepreneurship

Before fully diving into entrepreneurship, I pursued a completely different path. I spent years studying and training in the field of Nuclear Medicine. It was a rigorous, expensive journey that took a lot of time and effort. My parents were proud of me for choosing such a prestigious career, and I knew how much it meant to them.

But deep down, I felt conflicted.

The truth was, even though I had invested so much in this career, it just wasn’t for me. I wasn’t passionate about it, and I couldn’t see myself doing it for the rest of my life. It was a hard decision to make, especially knowing how disappointed my parents might feel when I chose to walk away.

But I knew I had to follow my heart.

I decided to gradually step away from Nuclear Medicine and take a leap into full time entrepreneurship. It wasn’t an easy choice, but it was the right one for me. Looking back, I’m so glad I trusted my instincts because it led me to where I am today—helping other moms build businesses they love and live lives on their own terms!

From Struggling to Thriving: The Turning Point

There was a moment in my journey where everything started to change.

After years of learning, failing, and trying again, I began to see the fruits of my labor in a big way.

At the time, I started a bridal hair and makeup services whilst studying that turned into a successful agency that took off like wildfire. I advertised only for a short period of time coupled with a "royalty" customer-first based service that my clients absolutely LOVED, and because of that word spread VERY quickly. Before I knew it, I was fully booked almost a year in advance consistently for years! I had to expand and created a team to enable the "royalty" standard of service to all of my clients.

I had brides reaching out to me from all over, wanting to secure my services for their big day. It was surreal. Some were even offering thousands of dollars more just to get me and my team to work on their wedding day. It felt amazing to be in such high demand, but I couldn’t physically take on every opportunity. I had to start turning potential clients down.

That experience taught me a valuable lesson—when you find your niche and deliver excellent service, you become irreplaceable. I was the living proof of that. If you put in the work and focus on providing exceptional value and service, success follows. But it wasn’t just about being good at what I did—it was about building systems that allowed my business to run smoothly even when I couldn’t be there.

And that wasn’t the only time my business took off through sheer word of mouth. After my bridal agency success, I started offering private and small group English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring classes.

At first, it was just a way to help others, but before long, my classes were filled with students who heard about me through friends or family.

I didn't need to advertise, not even once.

People simply recommended me because of the results I helped them achieve coupled with the excellent personalized service I gave them based on trust and honesty, and that was the ultimate compliment for me as an entrepreneur. My students thought of me not just as a teacher and mentor but also a trustworthy confidant.

These experiences were game-changers for me. They showed me that when you combine passion, excellent quality service, and strategic planning, the business will flourish.

The key to this is working smart, not burning yourself out by taking on too much. I realized that it wasn’t about chasing every opportunity; it was about building a business that's sustainable—something that gave me enough money and time to live my life as I intentionally chose, while still growing purposeful business.
